“He wasn’t with a woman more than once, because when you were, you started a habit, and that habit would become very hard to break. Someone caught feelings, and that someone wasn’t him.....” I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Lucien’s sense of humor and his character were just on point. He livened up some dark scenes with his sarcasm and you could feel Julia’s frustration with his supposed immaturity. Can’t wait for the next book in the series and definitely recommend this book!

A bit of suspense and suspense!
Now let me start off by saying that I’m a huge fan of JLA’s work especially the Covenant and Lux series, those books are my absolute favorites out of all that she has written. Once I’ve heard about her newest series, de Vincent, the synopsis had me intrigued. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with this one, but I was curious to read more, especially with the darker tone this book emits. This book starts off with secrets galore, there’s just a lot of mystery of what it is going on and you’ll be wanting to all these questions answered. To be honest, I had trouble deciding what the genre actually was, you’ll know exactly what I mean once you start diving into this one. You get the paranormal vibe that’s on the scary side, yet it’s truly a suspense thriller. Note: this is not a PNR. There’s just some straight up creepy things happening in this book. Or maybe it’s the fact that some of the characters straight up creeped me out. Let’s start off with Julia, she recently secured this amazing job, which seems a bit overpaid. There’s a lot of mystery behind who her client is, so much that she was given false names in order to hide the identity of who she’d be working for. On the eve of her big move and first day on the job, she heads out to the local bar as a last hoo-rah. Expecting to just have a few drinks with friends, turns into a night ending in bliss with a beautiful stranger. The next day she gets the surprise she wasn’t expecting. Not only does she learn about the famous and extremely wealthy family she now works for, she learns more about that stranger from the night before. Despite a little bit of truth and all signs telling her she should head back home and get a new job, she decides to stick it out. Lucian, what is there to say about this man? A cocky bastard I must say and knows EXACTLY what he wants. A definition of a playboy, but his other side showing how much he cares about not only his family but his sister as well. Besides all that, he has that dark, mysterious, and sexiness rolling off of him in folds. I loveeeee Julia. She’s a pretty strong character and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of Lucian’s twin, Madeline. doesn’t give in too quickly to Lucian’s advances. However, it’s so evident how much attraction is going on between the both of them. Even though Lucian loves to play the field a bit, he’s completely enamored with Julia. I enjoyed seeing Julia unravel him. Moonlight Sins is not a quick read and a book you have to really pay attention to every detail to truly understand what’s going on. Secrets are being held, is it really a curse upon the de Vincent family? All I’m saying is that there are more than ghosts walking around in the de Vincent mansion. Overall, a well-rounded story with quite a bit of mystery and that slow burn that I love so much. Be prepared to swoon over Lucian! I look forward to the next book, Moonlight Seduction.

Great new start to series
Wow. Jennnifer L Armentrout really surprised me with this story (in a good way of course). This is a New Adult/ Sci-Fiction-y/Mystery/Romance novel. I give it all of those because it has a little of each aspect to it. The romance/New Adult - This book focuses on the youngest de Vincent brother, Lucian. He is very arrogant and always gets what he wants. I don't think the cover model does him justice. Forward to Julia's introduction. To me, I thought she was going to be very timid and a push over. But, as the book continued, she really grew on me as a whole. She stands up for herself and doesn't let Lucian walk all over her. Julia moves to Louisiana to care of Lucian's twin sister Madeline. However, at the time of leaving for LA, she doesn't know who she is going to work for. When she gets there and discovers its for Lucian, she wants to leave. But, she stays when he offers her her biggest dream of owning an animal sanctuary. Their romance is hot and heavy. Julia and Lucian are two characters you can't wait to see get together. Sci-Fi/Mystery - The story has a very creepy start. The three de Vincent brothers find a family member dead. They do not seem the least bit phased by this. There are noises coming from different parts of the home. Julia thinks she sees someone while she is showering. Mysterious things happen to the women in the family. The de Vincents think they are under some kind of curse. Madeline had been missing for almost ten years and suddenly has returned to the de Vincent homestead. She appears to be in a comatose state. She can't talk and stares blankly into space. Julia is there to help rehabilitate her. I loved the mystery in this book. I had no idea what was in store. Jennifer L Armentrout kept me captivated throughout the story. I want to find out what happens to the next two brothers. One of my favorite quotes: "Could she do it? Could she throw away all her reservations and concerns? Could she go to Lucian simply because she wanted to - wanted him? Was she able to let her past go and live - live in the moment? She wasn't sure, because all of that still terrified her, because what if it blew up in her face? Could she make that choice?"

Well that was an interesting and surprising book!
Since this is a new series I didn't know what to expect from it, besides knowing I would like it for sure because it's Jen. It took me a little bit to get into it since I didn't know what was going on and it was completely new. I also didn't know what to think of the characters, not just at the beginning, but at certain points throughout the book as well. There is a lot to this storyline. So much happens and you have to pay attention to what's going on every step of the way. I made many guesses on what I thought was going to happen next, but I was often wrong and therefore surprised. Once the book started to really get going and I got a feel for it I was hooked. It was a very well written book, as usual for Jen. So much happens to the characters and we learn a lot about them throughout the book. Julia is a simple girl and easy to understand. She's smart, kind, dedicated, and easy to like. I enjoyed learning more about her life and seeing everything de Vincent through her eyes. The de Vincents on the other hand weren't always the easiest to like. They're all a bit of a mystery with a whole lot of secrets. Lucien is definitely a determined guy who loves his family, even though that doesn't always show. He does what he wants to do and when he wants to do it. He is very entertaining, but also stubborn. He can be sweet when he wants to be and is very protective. I like that he is different with Julia, maybe not right away, but he shows a different side of himself when he's around her. The rest of the de Vincents are an intriguing bunch. They don't often let people in so it's hard to see what's really going on in their heads. I really wanna learn more about them though. I know there are many more secrets to be revealed and I can't wait. Moonlight Sins had a different feel to it than other Jen books. It was exciting and intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait for Moonlight Seduction!

This book could have been a good one if only they cut a lot and really paid attention to editing. So much unnecessary musing of the main female character that sometimes I felt so bored that I wanted to drop the book. Finished it really only because I wanted to know the ending. Pity.
